I Am Me" My Hair Journey

My passion for Hair, Fashion, Beauty ,Nails, & Makeup started at a very young age. At just the age of 6 years old I knew exactly who I was, what I wanted, and Loved to express myself with each of those interests. Most called in being Grown or growing up to fast but my heart and desires meant none of that.  Still Now at my current age  that's where my passion lies. As a young girl I admired my mother who is such an amazing cosmetologist herself! (she has thought me everything I know when it comes to Slaying Hair) I would watch her step by step on how she would truly care for the hair and how she built such and an amazing foundation at such a young age. She always added her own little "Trenna Blessing" to each style. Once she seen how passionate I was about everything she would always  show me how to properly care for hair, style, the process to things, & more when it came to the beauty industry. I'm So forever grateful for my mother. As a child I really didn't care to play outside, or any outdoor activities I truly enjoyed putting on a episode of "The Real World" and styling my hair, putting on press on nails, and playing in my grandmommy makeup. "Long Hair" "Long Nails" "Full Face Of Makeup" oh that's definitely me. Though I confidently knew and still know I don't need those things to be Phenomenally Me. I LIKE THOSE THINGS. ( Never change who you are for anything) At the age of 10 I really started taking my passion for hair seriously,  Imagining that I one day would be this dope stylist with a salon of my own. I knew I wanted to be a "Professional  Stylist". From styling my friends hair, prom, & events at school I was able to show off my talents. Throughout my high school years I kept my skills going. Then I became a mother at the age of 18 to set of twins so you know styling hair became my side hustle. I was the True "Kitchen Beautician" However I knew at heart my journey wouldn't stop there. When the twins were about two and a half years old several years prior to me actually attending cosmology school I had my eyes set on "Paul Mitchell The School Indianapolis" I rode pass the school one day in 2011 and said out loud in my head "I'll Be back for you one day, one day. (But Being a mother came first for me) So it took some time to truly walk in what God had for me! (Keep going no matter how long it takes you have what it takes) In 2017 I came up with the name "I Am Me Hair By Nay Brown" then One day after about 5 years at my Great Paying Job, 401k, Insurance included I just decided to put in my two week notice, trust God, and go for it. In 2018 my family and I packed up, moved to a new state, and went for it all. ( A true support system is important to have) November 2018 I started my journey at "Paul Mitchell The School Indianapolis Part time at nights and actually was an front desk employee at Paul Mitchell The School Indy during the days. (God is so good) I graduated May 2020 and Soared on to a becoming a Paul Mitchell Alumni. I Now currently am the Founder & CEO of 3 successful businesses working Full Time at my "Dream Job"! (Remember all things work together for the good) I share all of this about my journey because I want someone to know never give up and "Keep Going" Love yourself no matter what....... Remember just who you are and whose you are......you so got this and God got you! "GO AFTER YOUR DREAMS". - I Am Me Nay Brown
